Flavors Of Egypt Tour

Day 1: Montreal – Cairo - Flight to Cairo.
DAY 2: Cairo
Welcome at the airport by the Egyptologist guide. Visit the Saladin citadel, an imposing 12th century fortress, and the alabaster mosque of Mohammed Ali Pasha. Transfer and installation at the hotel. (S)
Day 3: Cairo
Visit to the Egyptian National Museum dedicated to Egyptian Antiquity. Cooking class on Egyptian specialties followed by dinner on the banks of the Nile. Return to the hotel, welcome cocktail and dinner at the hotel. (PD-D-S)

DAY 4: Cairo
Discovery of an Egyptian emblem classified as a UNESCO world heritage site: the Giza plateau and
the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos, as well as the statue of the Sphinx standing in front
of them. Camel ride in the desert followed by dinner in a local restaurant located in an oasis.

In the afternoon, visit Saqqara, the vast necropolis
of Memphis and first capital of Lower Egypt, then the site of the step pyramid of Djoser, the Teti pyramid and a mastaba, Egyptian funerary building.

DAY 5: Cairo - Luxor
Early departure for the flight to Luxor, an ancient city 700km south of Cairo. On arrival, visit of the Karnak temple, a UNESCO site over which ruins, temples, chapels and pylons extend. By Next, visit the temple of Luxor, in the heart of ancient Thebes and built for the god Amon. Check in at the hotel and have dinner in a local restaurant. (PD-D-S)

Day 6: Luxor

Early in the morning, possibility of taking a hot air balloon flight over the necropolis of Thebes. Discovery of the Valley of the Kings on the west bank of the Nile where the tombs of many pharaohs of the New Kingdom. Visit to three of them, in addition to that of Tutankhamun.
Visit from the temple of Ramses III of Medinet Abou followed by
a dinner in front of the temple. In the afternoon, visit the Valley of the Queens. Possibility of visiting the tomb of Nefertari ($). Dinner in a restaurant typical Egyptian. (PD-D-S)

Day 8: Luxor - Edfu – Kôm Ombo – Aswan

DRoad to Aswan with stops to visit the temple of the god Horus
in Edfu and Kôm Ombo for the visit the temples of Sobek and Haroëris, falcon and crocodile gods. Installation at the hotel

Day 7: Luxor

VVisit to the funerary temple of Queen Pharaoh Hatshepsut built in stone then visit to the tomb of the noble Ramosa.
Meal surrounded by nature in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel for enjoy the facilities and have dinner. (PD-D-S)

Day 9: Aswan

Visit the temple of Isis in Philae, an island submerged in the 1970s including temples and monuments were moved and restored by UNESCO. Visit to a workshop to discover the manufacturing of perfumes and medicinal oils.

Dinner on the banks of the Nile. Boat trip in the reserve natural beauty of Aswan where you can observe several species of birds, then discovery of a village Nubian and its culture. (PD-D-S)

Day 10

Early morning departure to Abu Simbel to visit the temples of ancient Egypt dug into the rock and built for Ramesses II and his wife Nefertari. Dinner on the banks of Lake Nasser then return towards Aswan and stop at the new hydroelectric dam built from 1960 to 1970. Stop at the market with spices then return to the hotel. In the evening, sound and light show at the temple of Isis in Philae. Dinner at a local restaurant. (PD-D-S)

Transfer to the airport and flight to Cairo. On arrival, visit the Museum of Civilization Egyptian and the room of mummies. Farewell dinner at the hotel. (PD-D-S).
